Condolences

Condolences to Rose Nagler on the passing of her husband Ben Nagler.The funeral will take place, graveside, at Mt Sinai Cemetery on SOM Center
Rd. today, Sunday December 29, at 3pm.

Rose and their daughter Abby will sit Shiva at Rose and Ben’s home 2336 Loyola, University Heights, until Friday afternoon.

Visiting hours are:
Sunday, until 8pm.
Monday through Thursday: 2pm-5pm and 7:30pm-9pm
Friday 1pm-3pm.

The Torah and Tolkien lectures concluded this past Monday. I think they were a huge success, well attended, and I enjoyed giving them immensely. The next series, on Navi, will take place this spring. Stay tuned for more details. Also, if anyone has ideas for other "different" or even standard topics for one or more shiurim, please let me know.

Heights Jewish Center Synagogue is proud to be sponsoring winter swim sessions at The Keller center at Notre Dame College.

Women: 4:00-5:30 pm
Men: 7:00-8:30 pm

$10 for an adult
$8 for kids 7-12
$15 for 1 adult and 1 child under 7
$30 family maximum per session

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult

Torah and Tolkien – Part Three – Tonight 8pm at Beachwood Library

TONIGHT, Monday December 23rd, I will give the last lecture in the series of shiurim exploring the similarities and differences between traditional Jewish thought (Torah and Medrash) and themes found in the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. Classes are given at the Beachwood library from 8-9 pm.
