HJC News- Tazria-Metzora/Rosh Chodesh

Private Note: I have made an effort not to burden this mailing list with anything more than basic announcements. People who do not want to receive these emails have the option of sending me an email and requesting removal from the list, which I do immediately.  In the next few weeks, I plan to start sending out a more frequent email with my thoughts, divrei Torah and divrei Chochma on a regular basis.  This will be separate from the HJC Announcements emails I send weekly and before big events.  If you have no desire to receive anything other than the basic news email, let me know. Thank you. RD

Mazel Tov to Irwin and Lorna Shulman on the Bar Mitzvah of their grandson, Eliezer Shulman of Waterbury CT. He is the son of Rabbi Sholomo and Avia Shulman.

Refuah Shleima to Jeanette Seltzer and Shira Katz.

HALACHA: Even those who refrain from haircuts and shaving between Pesach and Lag B’Omer may do so today, Friday, in honor of Shabbos-Rosh Chodesh.

Cholent Kiddush this Shabbos is sponsored by Gershon and Mary Ireland in memory of Mary’s father and in honor of the recent Bris of Daniel Meir Ireland.

We will be starting a Chabura (Discussion Group) for men only, studying Rabbi Shalom Arush’s Garden of Peace.  The first gathering will take place tomorrow, Shabbos afternoon at the home of Steve Baker , 2415 White Rd in University Heights at 6:00 PM and will run just short of an hour.  If you are interested in hosting the group on a future Shabbos, please contact me.  Garden of Peace  is available at Frank’s Hebrew Book Store, in the Cedar-Green plaza.  I cannot convey strongly enough how important I think this book is.  There is no need to RSVP.  We look forward to seeing you there. And spread the word.  I consider this so important that I will send it out in a separate email!

This Tuesday at 1PM at the home of Rachel Covitch 2429 Elmdale, Deena’s Class will beging a series on the Book of Ruth.  All women are welcome to attend.

This coming Wednesday at 8:45PM we will have the second Sefiras HaOmer class, exploring the Middos (Character Traits) that are emphasized by Mekubalim to be studied during the weeks between Pesach and Shavuos.  Everyone is welcome.

Good Shabbos and Chodesh Tov
Rabbi Davidovich
