HJC News – Ki Seitzei

Welcome to our new members David and Bracha Klarfeld.

This Shabbos, the Drasha is entitled “Ten Years Later”.

Next Sunday September 18 at 8pm, and then on Sunday September 25 at 8pm, I will be delivering a Two-Part pre-Rosh Hashana series entitled “Strategies for Rosh Hashana and the Year ahead”.  Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Kiddush this Shabbos is sponsored by Benji and Becky Goldzweig in honor of their daughter Sara Aliza, and by Avraham and Dina Rossio in honor of their daughter Baila Miriam.

This week at Shalosh Seudos we will discuss Rabbi YomTov Lipman Heller, the Tosfos YomTov.

A Community-wide Cemetery preservation project will take place rain or shine on Sunday, September 18th from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Harvard Cemetery – 5903 Harvard Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44105.  Harvard Cemetery actually belongs to Heights Jewish Center.  Please come to to volunteer for this mitzvah.  Weed, rake, prune and beautify the grounds.  Please bring shovels, clippers, hedgers, gloves, wheelbarrows and other gardening tools.

Rosh Hashana is only three weeks away. Once again, the Shul is fortunate to have Rabbi Simcha Mann as our Chazan for the Yomim Noraim.  Please call the office to reserve your seats. We will have babysitting available, but only, ONLY, with advance registration.  Please call the office to reserve a spot for babysitting.

Wine orders are now being accepted until September 18th. Please contact Rob Altshuler or the office.

The auction for Aliyos for the Yomim Noraim has begun. For bidding and

 details contact Martin Lipman.

The Shul will be preparing a Yizkor Booklet for Yom Kippur as well.  Please call or come into the office between 8:30AM and 12:30PM to submit names and make donations for the booklet.
