HJC News – Devarim/Chazon and Tisha B’Av information

There will be no Shalosh Seudos in shul this Shabbos.

The Navi Shiur and Mincha are scheduled earlier in order to give people an opportunity to return home and have Shalosh Seudos there. No Seuda Hamafsekes rules should be observed on Shabbos. Eating and drinking should stop during Shabbos, at sunset: 8:28 PM.

Once Shabbos ends, one should acknowledge its conclusion by saying "Baruch Hamavdil Bein Kodesh L’Chol" and removing one’s leather shoes. Maariv is at 9:50 PM in order to give people the opportunity to drive to shul for Maariv and Eicha.

Havdala is deferred until the fast ends. One must make Havdala before ending the fast.
On Saturday night only the bracha on the havdala candle is said.

(I recommend you bring your own crates or pillows or low chairs to shul.)

Please note that Shacharis this Sunday will be at 8:30 AM.

The next Simcha Kiddush is September 3. Please contact Jason Claude or Esther in the office to co-sponsor for as little as $18 a name.

I wish all of you a Good Shabbos, followed by an easy Fast
