HJC News – Vayak’hel

Condolences to Shimshi Taub on the passing of his father Chaim Taub. Shimshi is headed to Israel for the burial, and will be back in Cleveland Sunday evening, sitting shiva until Wednesday morning at the home of his grandmother Magda Taub, 3528 Severn in Cleveland Heights.

Refuah Sheleimah to Gladys Ritzenberg, she is at Hillcrest.

Kiddush is being sponsored by Halle Goldblatt and friends in honor of Halle’s birth a few years back, and to commemorate the Yahrzeit of Halle’s brother, Binyamin ben Yehudah Avram.

Shalosh Seudos is sponsored by Alex Adelman in memory of his mother and his wife Blanche, and Rabbi Schur, whose yohrtzeit is Erev Shabbos.

Condolences

Condolences to Shimshi Taub on the passing of his father Haim Taub.

The Funeral will take place tomorrow, Wednesday February 19, at 7pm, at Berkowitz-Kumin. Burial will be in Israel.

Upon Shimshi’s return to Cleveland early next week, he will sit Shiva with the rest of the family at the home of Magda Taub, 3528 Severn.

Rebbetzin Deena’s class for women resumed this past Monday, and continues this coming Monday at 9:30am at the Romanoff home in Cleveland Heights.

The next Hot Topics breakfast will take place on Sunday February 9 at 9am, with a special talk entitled "Orthodoxy and Open Orthodoxy: Interesting Times in the Jewish World". The Entire Community is invited to attend. The breakfast is sponsored by Harold and Faiga Males in memory of Faiga’s mother Shaindel Leah bas Yaakov Leib and her brother Avrum Alter ben Mordechai Tzvi.

Winter Swim Sessions are being offered to the Jewish Community at the Keller Center on Notre Dame Campus. The last session of this series is THIS SUNDAY, February 9, with separate times for Women (4-5:30pm) and Men (7-8:30pm). I’ve taken Shlomo, and he and his friends had a great time. It’s the perfect activity for this kind of weather. All proceeds go directly to Heights Jewish Center.
