HJC News – Parshas Terumah

The Shul will have a Break-Fast meal on Monday March 9 at 8:45pm, after the Megilla reading.  There will be music, activities for the kids and lots of fun. Everyone is welcome to RSVP, by calling the office at 382-1958 or emailing office@hjcs.org.  The cost is a very reasonable $5 per person.  Anyone interested in sponsoring the event or helping prepare should please contact Deena at deenarm@gmail.com

The March Newsletter has been sent out.  You should all have it today or tomorrow latest.  Please look through it carefully.  It lists all the goings-on at the Shul throughout the whole month.   If there is an interest, we can send it out as a .pdf attachment via email.  

The community is invited to join in an event to commemorate the shloshim of Rabbi Noach Weinberg, zt”l, Rosh Yeshiva of Aish HaTorah. It will be a night of tribute and inspiration. There will be a short video presentation.  Thursday, March 5, 2009, Time: 7:45 PM, at the Shul.

On Sunday March 8 at 10:45am, Bonei Olam will be having its annual Brunch at Green Road Synagogue.  I will be delivering the opneing remarks.  Everyone is encouraged to attend and support this literally vital organization. http://www.boneiolam.org/detail.php?event=850

HJC News: Mishpatim-Shekalim

Refuah Sheleima to Aaron Ritzenberg and to Myrtle Wish.

Condolences to Phil Setnik on the passing of his sister Gail. The Graveside Funeral will take place today at 2pm at Mount Sinai Cemetery, corner SOM Center and White.  Phil will be sitting shiva at his home on Lyndway until Thursday morning.   

Shalosh Seudos is sponsored by Mr and Mrs Harold Males in commemoration of her brother’s Yohrtzeit.

Rosh Chodesh Adar is this Tuesday and Wednesday.

Siegal College is bringing Professor Adam Ferziger from Bar-Ilan University to our campus on Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 7pm-9pm for a free lecture entitled, “S.R. Hirsch: Father of Modern Orthodoxy?”
